MACazine was co-founded by Inge Berken, an award-winning Dutch birth photographer, and Dr. Koen Deurloo, obstetrician.

Together they combine documentary photography and medical expertise to increase awareness and understanding of Mother Assisted Cesarean Birth.

For more than twenty years, Inge has documented birth through honest and emotional storytelling. In recent years, she has specialised in photographing Mother Assisted Cesarean Birth, helping families preserve one of the most meaningful moments of their lives while contributing to greater awareness of this unique way of giving birth.

Dr. Koen Deurloo

As an obstetrician, Dr. Koen Deurloo is committed to family-centred maternity care and the continued development of Mother Assisted Cesarean Birth. Through his medical expertise, he helps explain the procedure in an accurate, accessible and evidence-informed way.
